The organization Bekka works for gave her the implants she needs to take on missions for her clients. These implants allow her clients to take over her body to perform certain tasks in the field. These clients are forced to use her as their surrogate, because they can't appear in person for varous reasons.

Each mission takes Bekka to different parts of the world, either under the noses of corporate tycoons, the watchful eyes of surveillance drones, before the audiences of underground clubs, and deep below the subway tunnels where cults with good intentions dwell. Sometimes she recues the innocent. Sometimes she just has to sabotage the situation.

Whatever the case, she's not out to save the world. She's just trying to achieve as many small victories as she can in the midst of corruption.
