Synopsis
Miles Hawkins had it all, with money, intelligence, a loving family, and a strong tennis serve. Then a bullet left him paralyzed.Determined not to give up, he develops a neural harness that allows his brain to bypass his damaged spine. The device restores his movement and gives him enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes, but also sets him apart from ordinary life. He can live only in a wheelchair or inside the suit, never as a normal man.
As crime and violence spread through the city, Hawkins becomes a reluctant hero. Using his invention, he takes on the identity of MANTIS and fights back with advanced technology and the flying vehicle called the Chrysalid.
He is supported by John Stonebrake, his longtime friend and engineer, and Taylor Savidge, a daring bike courier who joins the team. Opposing them are the police, the media, and the city’s criminals, all determined to bring MANTIS down.
